Vat Tao Hai

This charming small temple just across the Old French Bridge from Luang Prabang town was once the residence of Luang Prabang's Supreme Patriarch. The outside stencil art work illustrating traditional Lao folktales has been restored  during 2023/24 by Tiao Nithakhong Somsanith, a descendant of the Front Palace Upahat dynasty. Several old wooden kuti buildings are still used within the grounds.
