Built in 1951 "The Temple of Great Lineage" is situated on the right bank of the Nam Khan. It was originally located within a community of potters, about 200m to the south east, but was demolished in 1948 and relocated when the French administration built a larger straight road connecting to Phetsarath Road. The outer galleries were added to the reconstructed sim. The main Buddha image is believed to have come from Mueang Yu near the Vietnamese border. [The Lao Sangha and Modernity]
