Vat Pa Phon Phao Vanaram

Located on the road out to Ban Phanom this monastery is most notable for its large golden stupa "Santi Chedi" or Peace Stupa which is clearly visible from Luang Prabang town a couple of kilometres away. Santi Chedi was built between 1969 and 1987 by Sathu Saisamut Sotikathera to mark the end of the civil war.
