Vat Pa Phon Phao Vanaram

Most notable for the large golden Santi Chedi or Peace Stupa which is clearly visible from Luang Prabang town a couple of kilometers away. Santi Chedi was built between 1975 and 1986 by Pha Saisamut Chotiko to celebrate the end of the civil  war. The main monastery buildings can be found further down the hill.
