Vat Khok Pab

A forest temple across the Mekong River from Luang Prabang accessible only by boat. Built during reign of king Anourouth (r.1791 - 1815). Abandoned in 1957 until in 2005 Phra Ouanesai Ounekeo (Sathou Sai) of Vat Choum Khong reoccupied the site and has led extensive renovations since. [The Quiet in the Land, Francis Engelmann]
