Vat Ban Daan
ວັດບ້ານດ່ານ

Ban Daan "Border Crossing Village" was in former times the northern entry point into Luang Prabang where traders coming down the Mekong River would pay taxes on the goods they were bringing to sell. The village and its splendid monastery are most easily accessed by river. Satou Ngai Khamfan once resided at this monastery (Later the abbot of Vat Souvanna Khilli)
The sim has elaborate stencil art work both inside and out, the work of Tiao Nithakhong Somsanith c.2022. A new staircase from the river is under construction in 2025.
